Frese 1929 Carleton
This canoe has been in the same family since it was purchased new and the years were not too kind to her. The initial evaluation was done at the farm after stripping the fiberglass and removing the sponsons. The disassembly revealed the canoe needed far more than initially thought and I hauled it south to our primary shop. As much of the original wood will be retained as possible but 60% or more will end up being replaced. It’s been in our hands for far too long and now that we have our own space to spread out we’re diving back into what will be a major restoration.
